A Late Quartet (15)

2012 (USA) (Drama, Music)
Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, Catherine Keener
Director: Yaron Zilberman
The movie world is still mourning the loss of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 2005 biographical movie Capote, was nominated three times as Best Supporting Actor, and received three Tony nominations for his work in theatre. As a tribute to him we are showing ‘A Late Quartet’.

As the world-renowned Fugue String Quartet approaches its 25th anniversary, its cellist (Christopher Walken) learns of the onset of a debilitating illness, forcing its members to re-evaluate their relationships. With their future hanging in the balance, suppressed emotions threaten to destroy years of friendship and collaboration. Hoffman plays second violinist Robert, in this homage to chamber music and the cultural world of New York.
