Annual General Meeting

Notice is given that Octagon Films will be holding its General Meeting on Friday the 10th March at 7.15pm at the theatre prior to the film showing that night.
The purpose of the meeting is to receive the trustees’ annual report and accounts, to inform the membership of the society’s activities and plans for the future and to appoint members to the Board.
Wine and cheese will be served from 6.30pm to all members who attend the AGM. Octagon’s Board of Trustees currently has 8 members, however, one of the trustees currently on the board does not wish to continue after the AGM. According to the constitution, the Board needs to have a minimum of five and no more than eleven members. There will, therefore, be up to four trustee vacancies on the Board for next year.
The Board of Trustees are responsible for the management of Octagon Films but over the years the number of trustees has gradually decreased because members are not coming forward to be elected. If this trend continues then there is the possibility that the trustees will need to dissolve the society.
If you would like to be considered for membership of the Board, then do put your name forward by e-mail or letter to Peter Mitchell at the address given in this programme for him to receive your nomination by the 23rd February 2017.
