A Member’s Choice Film. April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and its five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Fury is a brutal, visceral piece of work that may be the best American war movie since Saving Private Ryan. The battle scenes are powerful and unflinching as tanks trample over bodies and exploding mortar shells send limbs flying through the air. Fury might not tell us anything new but it is a striking insight into what we demanded of the brave souls who fought and won the Second World War and why so many of them chose never to talk about it again.
