Director: Todd Douglas Miller

Apollo 11 uses spectacularly clear archive footage of the hours leading up to launch, and then the mission itself to create an immersive cinematic experience, offering us the chance to ‘live’ the first moon landing mission in a way few other films have managed. Director Todd Douglas Miller gained access to never before seen 70mm footage and cleaned it up to look as if it were shot yesterday. The outcome may never be in doubt, but sweaty palms are guaranteed as each hurdle is negotiated, from blast-off through to re-entry and splashdown. .

It is sometimes hard to believe that the first moon landing took place 50 years ago and this film is a testament to the sheer magnificence of that achievement. This film is utterly astonishing and is out of this world in every sense.
