Brendan Canty’s kinetic feature is a touching and uplifting story of camaraderie amongst resilient young people trying to make a life on the margins. Thrown out of his comfortable suburban foster home, 17 year fold Christy (Power) moves in with his estranged half-brother Shane (Noyes) in Cork’s working-class north side. After spending so many years apart with chequered childhoods in the care system, they are now forced to confront their turbulent past and consider what their future may be.
Christy is an uplifting portrait of community through the lens of a teenager searching for his place within it.
