This documentary is set in the majestic scenery of Mongolia and follows a 13-year-old girl determined to break long-held prejudices and become an eagle huntress.
Aisholpan is a rosy-cheeked, pigtail-wearing teenager who has been encouraged to believe that anything is possible. She wants to follow in the footsteps of her father but there are hardliners in the community who believe only men should hunt.
Aisholpan’s father is not one of these men and she couldn’t have a more nurturing parent. Some of the most appealing elements of the film show Aisholpan’s father training her to handle an eaglet, bond with the bird, launch it from her arm and absorb the impact as it returns. When she joins 70 all-male competitors at the annual Golden Eagle Festival, you are willing her to succeed and teach them a lesson. The Eagle Huntress tugs at the heartstrings but it is an undeniably beautiful, rousing true-life tale.

Clint Eastwood as director and Tom Hanks as Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger team up for the first time and hit the mark with ‘Sully’, a riveting and emotional drama about the crash landing of a US Airways jet on the Hudson River in 2009.
The incident itself, which was over in minutes, is cleverly used throughout to sustain tension, recalled in flashback by a troubled and disorientated Sully as he struggles to come to terms with the crash and whether or not he’s a “hero or a fraud”. Did he, in fact, make the right decision to land in the Hudson river endangering the lives of all aboard when the plane was hit by a flock of birds shortly after take off, knocking out both engines? Initial evidence suggests that the plane’s left engine was still functioning. These are the questions that fuel the drama as Sully, holed up in a New York hotel after the incident, faces an investigation by the National Transport Safety Board, apparently out to condemn his actions and savage his reputation.
The result combines thrilling edge-of-the-seat action with compelling human drama. It is also a timely reminder of the best of human behaviour coming from not just one man but, as Sully points out, whole teams of people, including the passengers themselves.
