This very enjoyable noir comedy is based on the somewhat true story of university lecturer Gary Johnson. Enlisted by the police to pose as a fake hit man to entrap those who seek his services, mild-mannered Gary turns out to be a natural, until a beautiful new prospective client appears – he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman trying to flee an abusive husband. Might Gary prefer the excitement of an assassin’s life after all?
