No Ordinary Heist is a crime thriller based on the real 2004 Northern Bank robbery in Belfast. The story follows two ordinary bank employees who are forced into committing a massive heist after criminals kidnap their families and threaten their lives. As they navigate fear, mistrust, and moral dilemmas, the film focuses less on  flashy crime and more on the human pressure behind the robbery.

The film builds tension through authenticity. It focuses on psychological strain and moral conflict rather than spectacle. Performances by Eddie Marsan and Éanna Hardwicke add depth, while its grounded, restrained style and focus on ordinary people create a believable and emotionally engaging heist story.
