James Vanderbilt’s historical drama chronicles the true story of the war crimes trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film centres on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Malek), who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes. However, he finds himself in a complex battle of wits with Herman Goring (Crowe), Hitler’s accomplice.
This film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, where it received a four minute standing ovation.
