Nida Manzoor, makes her feature film directing debut with Polite Society, a zany and heartfelt comedy about the bond between two sisters. The film follows martial artist-in-training Ria Khan (Priya Kansara) who believes she must save her older sister Lena (Ritu Arya) from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.
With nods to Quentin Tarentino, James Bond, and Asian Martial Arts movies like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Polite Society” is a turbo-charged blast of a film that is not to be missed.
