On the eve of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the Irish football team descended into chaos with the now infamous clash of egos between team captain, Roy Keane (Hardwicke) and head coach, Mick McCarthy (Coogan). As the team prepares for the tournament, the pair’s intense rivalry and contrasting leadership styles draw them into an escalating war of wills that would transcend the game, divide public opinion and spark debate around the world. A hugely enjoyable drama of pride, loyalty and identity.

The film premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in 2025 and was reviewed as ‘the rare football movie that’s worth a replay’.
