In 1893 on an isolated property, a heavily pregnant woman named Molly Johnson (Leah Purcell) and her children struggle to survive the harsh Australian landscape; her husband is gone, droving sheep in the high country. And there are few more resilient than Molly, heavily pregnant, with a gaggle of kids at her heel and a shotgun ready to train on anyone who comes too close to her shack. Then she meets Yadaka (Rob Collins), an Indigenous man on the run from the police, and an uneasy trust built on shared secrets grows between them.
The film takes on the grit of a western to challenge racism, violence against women and injustice. Leah Purcell has a mighty screen presence and her gutsy acting performance will leave you reeling.
