Set against the backdrop of the breath-taking Scottish Highlands and infused with the whimsical humour of an eclectic cast of characters, this gloriously entertaining documentary is set in the sleepy village of Carrbridge, which every year hosts the World Porridge Making Championships. Locals and competitors from around the globe vie for the honour of winning The Golden Spurtle.

For 30 years Charlie Miller has been in charge of the competition and this year is special, for this is the last year he will be in charge of the festivities. His health is failing and it’s time for the warm-hearted Scotsman to pass on the spurtle. It’s impossible not to laugh out loud and shed a tear when the oatmeal really starts to burn!
